Pearl Fleet, Grounded

The pearling fleet stranded on green sand with no water anywhere, which is either a comment on the Gulf's memory of itself or just a good picture. Iridescent paillettes read unmistakably as fish scale or mother-of-pearl. Acid green heels puncture the pastel truce. Sand ripples do the work the sea is not there to do.
